Frequently Asked Questions

If You’ve Got Questions. We’ve Got Answers!

We have predetermined sizes for many in stock units. If you have a custom size that you are working with please contact us to discuss having a coldrooms (custom walk-in cooler) created for you.

Coldrooms do best installed on a level concrete floor. If your walk-in is installed on a wooden floor you must install an insulated floor along with it. Some health department require specific finishes for your walk-in’s flooring so it is best to check with local health codes before installation.

It may seem like a good way to save money by not having to pay for labor but we do not recommend building your own walk-in. It is not easy to install a walk-in if you have never done it before and you may not install it up to your local health departments required codes. Save yourself the trouble and have a professional install your walk-in.

Regular filter replacement helps your heating and cooling system operate at peak levels and improves indoor air quality. It is important to change filters regularly to ensure proper air flow and to keep your home free from dust, allergens and germs. Depending on the type of filter you have, you may require weekly or monthly filter replacements. Your AirPro Experts service or installation technician will recommend the ideal filters and replacement schedules for your unit(s).

Obviously the further you are from the South East the more difficult it is to undertake the installation ourselves but we can often recommend a local company.

We will need to know more but, if it is good quality and in working order, then we will consider it, this is often beneficial to both parties especially when we can view your equipment prior to making your purchase.

The relevant information can be found on the contact us page of our website.

Always read the small print! Most online companies offer a manufacturers warranty which means either parts only or with labour. If the labour is offered, it is at their discretion as to how long it will take to repair. In the summer, this may take a long time as they are calling on outside companies for their repair work, who are often busy with their own workload.

IF A CONDENSER IS BLOCKED IT INVALIDATES ANY WARRANTY. This is fact. It is the customers responsibility to keep equipment clean or have a service contract.

Beware long guarantees, these are either insurance cover or based on expensive maintenance being upheld. In our opinion finding a good local company to look after your equipment is always the best way.

Probably the most important decision to make, especially for the shopkeeper who has a lot of refrigeration in one area eg. a butcher or a convenience store .

Integral or plug-in refrigeration gives off heat and where several items of refrigeration are present this will build up, making refrigeration work harder. This will result in more noise, greater electricity usage, higher chance of breakdowns and therefore either extraction or airconditioning are often required to successfully maintain a working environment.

On the plus side – integral is often cheaper to buy, easier to change or move around and a good short term solution.

Remote refrigeration is best suited for larger pieces of equipment . Here the motor, or as it is called the condensing unit is purchased separately and piped to the item to be refrigerated . This requires an engineer and a separate decision as to where the outside condensing unit is to sited. Considerations are noise, heat, visibility and of course proximity to ‘your neighbours’.

This is invariably more expensive to purchase. It will use larger compressors dictated by the distance from the inside unit to the outside location . Once installed is not easy to move or remove.

On the plus side – no noise in the shop, cheaper pro rata running costs and a more pleasant working environment.
